Common questions.

Is there a Ring app for Apple TV?
Ring doesn’t publish one. Video Wall is the app that fills that gap — you install it from the App Store on the Apple TV itself, sign in with your Ring account, and every camera appears.
Which Apple TV models does it work on?
Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K, running tvOS 17 or later — every model Apple still supports. The 4K is the one to get if you’re buying: it’s the fastest box any of the four platforms run on, so it holds the most cameras smoothly. The 2nd and 3rd generation boxes can’t install apps at all, so nothing runs on those.
Does it work on the new Apple TV 4K (4th generation)?
Yes. Video Wall runs on every Apple TV with tvOS 17 or later, and the Apple TV 4K (4th generation), out November 13, 2026, is the most powerful streaming box it runs on: the best choice for keeping the most cameras live at once.
Do I need HomeKit, Homebridge or a Mac?
None of them. Video Wall connects straight to your Ring account, so there’s no bridge to configure, no HomeKit accessory to add, and nothing else in your house that has to stay switched on.
Can I open a camera from the Apple TV home screen?
Yes. Keep Video Wall in the top row of your home screen and your cameras appear in the Top Shelf above it, each with a recent snapshot. Select one to jump straight into it, full screen.
Can I keep a camera on screen while I watch something else?
Yes. Open a camera full screen and choose Picture in Picture: it floats in a corner over the Home screen and any other app, so the front door stays in view during a film. Press the TV button to move it, close it, or go back to full screen. A doorbell ring moves the window to the doorbell.
Does the TV show who's at the door when someone rings?
Yes. While Video Wall is on screen, a doorbell ring opens that doorbell full screen, usually within 10 seconds. If a camera is floating in Picture in Picture over a film, the window switches to the doorbell instead. It’s on by default, and one switch in Settings turns it off.
Can I hear the cameras?
Yes. A camera you open full screen plays its sound. On the wall, turn on sound for the highlighted camera and you hear whichever camera you rest on. You can also play a background sound under the wall, like gentle rain or a fireplace.
Can I zoom in on a camera?
Yes. With a camera full screen, the zoom button magnifies the picture to 2× or 4× and a swipe on the remote moves around it. A swipe left or right, when you aren’t zoomed, jumps to the next camera.
Can I just AirPlay my Ring cameras instead?
You can mirror an iPhone or Mac to the Apple TV, and for one quick look it works. It’s one camera, it occupies the device you’re mirroring, and it ends the moment that device sleeps — so it isn’t something you can leave up.
